I read on a sign on the weekend: True wealth is what we are, not what we have. Reading in the comments someone thought it was: Ahhh vinegar. Reading things like makes me feel glad that youtube exists :)

Good to see a brand spanking new post by the way.

But be sure it’s not righteousness that holds one back from having lots of material wealth too if one wishes… Imagine what good one can do with $23,700,000,000? (George Peabody’s wad)

I reckon Vinegar would look good too… with salt and ketchup all over some lovely fish and chips!

    Great song…

Good to finally post one. Yet to receive a new phone though, but found a way of posting without needing to scroll my ball up. Means no tweaking with it first before posting, so this one is in the raw, so to speak. Straight from moment to moment. Phone to website. London to Oz in your case Tan.

I think there’s nothing wrong with Silly amounts of money if it’s used wisely. Bill Gates is a great example of what can be achieved if a person also has a heart to go along with their funds. The man’s a marvel with his health programs.

I was actually tickled to notice one horse in the video, but he was without sleigh. Apple cider vinegar is very good in a salad dressing.

Great shot Nick. I’m trying to picture the position you had to get into to take it! Those pilates classes must be paying off. ;)

By George? Under George it looks like! Great photo…have to admit that I’d never heard of him before now, but any ‘p’body that gets a statue must be worth learning about. Back to Google I go. :-)

George was an American philanthropist (as well as banker) who went to London and gave money towards building housing for the poor. What a gent!

    Funny Mel :D

To answer your question, Elissa, we did have some a few days ago but nothing brewing at the moment. We got a bit of rain which has made the grass take off like one thing. To think that on Tuesday we will back to summer again. There have been three Hot days lately and that is one more than last year. That was probably the pre-summer summer. There were only two days last year that could be called Too Hot and the rest were perfectly lovely. The two hot days must have been to balance out the two days in winter on which the heater needed to go on at night :) .

I do hope we get some more of this:

    Ah, clever one Elissa.

Just phoned Grandma. She said he’s lost his appetite, but found an elephant’s ! Little rip !

Glad he’s ok though. It’s a worry. Thank you for asking :)

Sunshine and blue sky out the office window today.

I’m really enjoying myself at work today…

Have to admit Vienna sounds lovely. Have never been. Sounds all snowflakes, hot chocolate and cozy cafes… siiiigh. Anyway…

Have always loved this little Billy Joel tune. I play it to (a great Aussie phrase) ‘take the piss’ outta myself when things get too introspective and serious. Happens to us all on occasion, I like to think. I like how music can take you out of your situation and change your point of view. This one does it for me…

Helen, you are too funny. sniiiicker…

  18. Helen on 25th November 2009 at 3:15 pm permalink

Oh don’t say that Tex ! I am desperate for chocolate and everyone in the office is refusing to go and buy me any. Lazy so and sos. ;)

Btw, dear host, my crackberry ball always seemed to get stuck as well the last days of it’s life. I was able to free it up for awhile just by turning the phone off then on. If you haven’t already tried, it seems to reboot it somehow.

    Ha! Helen!
Then I won’t mention the pumpkin lattes down at my local Starbucks, then? Even non-chainstore minded me thinks about getting derailed when I see those tempting signs pop up this time o’ year, soon followed by the eggnog latte and the peppermint latte. Jeez, what’s a poor urban girl to do in these plain coffee times? Might have to carry around a can of instant whipped cream, cinnamon and chocolate sprinkles in my purse. ; )

This was Haircut 100’s officially favourite Christmas song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyEztz6nY9Q We played it and played over and over in the Panda Mobile (van) outside our pop concerts in the snow leading up to and after Christmas 1981 going into 1982. It was our soundtrack. Such a magical time. Shivering with goosebumps and bursting with energy! I’m snow with you Gul, they make you all nice and warm and cosy… then it’s all “January February don’t you come around” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LYz5mPUY2Q

This was and is so good wasn’t and isn’t it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWjVCyNWs1o

Hold such a lovely soft spot for this ice cream cornet though… magnificent recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hVEdE0O5tA

Still top of the pops though is this absolute Brit Pop classic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6YbLZf8i5I

You’re welcome :) . I think it’s particularly lovely at about a minute and a half and also that sweet little bit of guitar. They’re both not far from 70 now, in the blink of an eye it seems.

By George? My George. I get a bit sooky when he sings “I always looked up to you” – such a personal thing to say about his old friend :(

Poor Jona is always found in the kitchen at (Christmas) parties. Wouldn’t you think that Louise would join him? I can still remember seeing Stop the Cavalry on Countdown and being taken with the beautiful sound – sort of uplifting and sad all at once. 2000 miles is a favourite in this house at any time of year.

  45. Helen on 25th November 2009 at 11:30 pm permalink

    Waitresses – excellent.
    Barbara – not so much.
    Jona – classic.
    Slade – party time.
