Snorting Like A Cave
The opening to a whole new wall of drawings, where the deer and the antelope play. Come on in and join the fun. Take a pew and write a few. You and me inside!

Hi tex , I don’t believe it , I was only watching razors edge last night, fantastic:-)
Good idea Gary. The river has the answers. Why else would we float up and down it so much if it didn’t. I once found an answer in a salmon sandwich left behind by a Canadian goose. Nice bit of salad it had in it too, but those were my salad days… Now everything is ex spanding balletically and beautifully simple, and The Mayor Of Simpleton is in real countdown to XTC. Have a good day. Is it raining cats and dogs where you are too?
its raining cat dog, and elephants here in south London.. wouldnt wanna be driving a sporty number today the roads are flooden… with leaves… its like being beside the river here…
Also Nick, National Trust. they have open air concers at selective houses..I went to one not so long ago.. they have fireworks and firer eaters a juggles roaming around its beautiful.. and you take a picnic ..and its for chairty perfect! that would be so cool to orgainse one of the for 2010
18 C here. And another day of total sunshine, not a cloud in the sky. I can’t take it anymore…
Whoa, Gary….that’s bizarre. T’was the Bill Murray version, correct? He took off from acting for 4 years so disappointed that the film only grossed 6 million (he only got financing for it after agreeing to sign up for Ghostbusters) after it taking 12 million to make. So sad for such a great film. Best scene for me is when he’s sitting on the mountain freezing with no source of heat…then he starts burning the philosophy books he was sent to study. Awesome, crystal clear moment…
And of course I can be Skyped for proof of sunshine if folks need to see it for themselves. Lord knows, everybody has my email address by now… ehehe…
haha Tex.. tell me are you up early or going to bed late.;.. surely its can only be about 7.30am ish there?
Friggin 8:30 AM company meeting. Only in America, babydoll…
Yes Nick, a riverside festival would be fab< it certainly is a ballet for a rainy day, will need 100 umbrellas and the grass was too wet when i went to the meeting place, i cant wait for that big day even the mermaid smiled and the man who sailed around his soul is gonna make it too, will have to wait for summers cauldron before it happens and need to earn enough for us , could broadcast it over seas so will need another satellite i am dying for it to happen we could have a pig roast on a sacrificial bonfire !!
I really enjoyed The Painted Veil. Haven’t seen The Razor’s Edge yet. Looks very dramatic, is it all bing bang bash?
Just tea and cakes would do here Gary, but you go ahead and slaughter that pig!!
National Trust concerts are the way. I’ve visited and played in some of them and it’s such a lovely lifestyle. All Farrow and Ball paints and restoration. Very lovely indeed… Truly scrumptious!
Gary is THAT a coded message?
sorry nick i would never kill any animal it was the only thing that went with sacrificial bonfire unless we roast a nut cutlet maybe
not coded deb just xtc skylarking about,
You keep singing all my songs! Truly Scrumptious love that one!
SO there is one other place I would love to see you play and that is the Troxy a 1920 restored beauty! Its in the East End.. Really you would love it and I can arrange it!
XTC werent they a band.. you have to go slower for me Gary I cant keep up with all the letters..
So gary do you ever get in to London we could meet for tea and cakes at simpsons on the strand
chitty chitty bang bang. lovely songs takes me back to when i was a nipper. my fave film besides love actually and titanic and kes.
“XTC werent they a band” Deb they are the best band ever, imagine if the Beatles had not split up and carried on , thats them, so under rated its a crime against humanity , what do u reckon Nick aint that so sir?
You can kill an animal if you want to Gary. No need to say sorry to me at all either. I’ve killed creatures (mainly insects on the windscreen) and eaten all manner of things in life. I’ve only chosen not to eat meat because I feel better not eating human farmed animal’s unhappiness. But creatures killing and eating each other in the wild is the most natural thing on Earth.
Check this out? “Not a cage fighting video” said Nicholas:

Ooh, ‘The Painted Veil’ was a good one. Saw that here on my little laptop only a few weeks ago. Amazing that they got it together in the end. I love when Naomi Watts with her young child runs into her old lover in the streets of London after all she’s been through in Asia. When he leaves, the child asks who that was, she answers, ‘Nobody important.’ Bang! I looooved that! Anyway, yeah, ‘The Razor’s Edge’ is a film I’ve see every few years or so since it came out. It came out when I was maybe 15 or and knew there was a message there for the soon-approaching complexities of adulthood, I just couldn’t figure out what it was at the time because I hadn’t really experienced much of life at that time -a clean-slate kid. Well, it’s been about 25 years since the film came out and on some level or another I can now identify with almost every scene, give or take a few, and every time I see it, even more is revealed to me. At it’s core is a great message about not getting caught up in the material world and realizing what’s truly important in life and how difficult is can be to find that path, much less stay on it when there are so many situations, obstacles and people to derail you from that. ‘Gone With the Wind’ is probably more technically perfect, well-rounded story but ‘The Razor’s Edge’ speaks to me like no other film. But yeah, it’s only what I see in it.
Umbrellas? Getting wet? Huh? And how many days has this been since we’ve all met?

“Pineapple wet heads
Watch new hairdos crumble…”
Classic. Speaks to my chick side. ahaha…
I think XTC is more of a bloke’s band Gary…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gikoBV25fXc
I like them
I like blokeish band
Check out oxbow I darent post a link as its an adquired taste Eugene the front man is also a writer and a cage fighter lovely man that is a contradiction when you know his background
Speaking of a bloke’s band, I keep waiting for someone to post some Motorhead clip or Whitesnake tidbit with that zany pirate whore (er, can I use a word like that?) Tawny Kaitan wriggling all over the hood of that jag.
Until then, here’s a touch of class instead for you guys.
And a soothing instrumental at that. So don’t say I never gave you anything…

I like XTC… and I’m not a bloke
I just like Blokes.

Ladybird nick great title for a song , your new ladybird song had a similar feel to the boys
XTC are ‘more’ of a bloke’s band, not a full blown leather sweating hell raising metal band. They just have a fan base that is mostly male and into guitars and the chord shapes in a slightly boffin kinda way. Girlfriends normally tag along like boyfriends normally tag along to my shows. I like and respect tags.
Putting on the new Star Trek film… I also try things that aren’t normally my cup of tea. Let’s call it tagging shall we?
I hope the film hits the spock nick
Or the spotify
Yes, I’m a tag !!
Graham ‘listens’ to music a lot more than I do. I don’t mean the frequency. He gets more out of it than just appreciating a catchy tune or a good riff. He hears things that I don’t.
I shall be dragging my tag along in December too.
Actually, he’s rather looking forward to it
Hope you enjoyed the film Nick – not my cup of tea either.
My tag once brought this home from Blockbuster and I was mad ! Turns out it was one of the most gripping films I’ve ever seen.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7zadH1ZqAE
The following week he brought home Spelling Bee – that was great !
Tagging sounds like fun… any time you need one Im your tag!
I used to like star trek.. but not since they started to take it all to sssssserioulsy..
Who remembers Lost in Space… loved that
Oh and that title music… ha! fabby dabby dosey!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH6j63lhAAc
spelling bee is great Helen! My lovertag brought that home to me not so long ago… brilliant
Lost in friggin’ Space! I use to race home from school to catch that one! That and for William Shatner that followed on his show, my first boyfriend.
Tagged to see the latest Saw movie last week…..geez…the things we do for love hey? lol There was no falling asleep or snogging but plenty of ear plugging and eye covering!
Is it Monday again….sigh….
btw glad you have all decided on a National Trust tea and cake festival by the river whilst I was sleeping. Sounds just lovely. Keep me posted! I would surely fly the miles for that one.
Oh, I’ll try anything once that isn’t my cup of tea. Except…how goes that classic British phrase? -Morse dancing and incest? Ha. I love how the Americans are to petrified to even utter a phrase like that. Anyway, hope I didn’t offend anyone just then… with, er…’your’ phrase..er..(gulp!).
Morse dancing and incest Tex, a great british phrase , yes I use that one all the time
was once in a chinese takeaway place in LA, with a few chairs for those who wished to eat in, when Captain Kirk joined the queue and ordered some food… now having grown up with Star Trek after school it was quite something to behold, and yet as I pulled out of the car park and drove home I couldn’t help feeling that a little part of my school uniform was lost in space forever…
Anyway, back to the film, really enjoying it! My friend Greg lost his life toward the beginning, but he went down smiling. RIP
Yes, I like and respect and appreciate Motorhead AND Whitesnake and yup -even Tawny Kitain (probably because I’m totally jealous of not being a ravishing redhead with amazing legs to ‘there’. But anyhoo… Now, where was I? Oh yes, XTC too. But Lemmy and his line, ‘Speed don’t kill and I’m the proof”. I loved driving my VW around in the 80’s to that one. Awesome… Plus his lyrics to ‘We Are the Road Crew’. I mean, I’ve never toured in a band but he brought the feel of it all home with that one! So proud I could recite the song by heart in my Laura Ashley dress back in the day…
..Umm who was Greg? I dont remember that name..am I being thick??
Ah, Greg…
That reminds me…
Greg ellis deb as in open sesame seed , has any one got a copy , it’s the only nick lp I don’t gave a bit like the missing bit of of a jigsaw of a country scene , hope some one can help
I’ve got first dibs Gary – I’ll let you have a copy when I get mine
