Song and enquiry. Sounds good. Thelonehydrangea…can you make it?

  2. mrssplat on 21st December 2009 at 11:24 pm permalink

I wouldn’t be able to make that but I have to say – January Man is the most incredible song! Always gets played twice or even three times in a go.

Hope you have an amazing night anyway xxx

it’s up the road for me, so may be playing there quite regularly… I visit the queen of summertime rather a lot you see…

Its not so much the meaning of the words Helen, more a case of a very catchy tune and you can sing your heart out to it – its gives you a good vocal workout. Pretty good riffs too :-)

The Queen of Summertime – where is she now?

  7. Helen on 21st December 2009 at 11:31 pm permalink

You see now I don’t know what to believe.

    You’re talking in riddles again.

    ;)

I’m still getting over it too… I can’t wait to play with the band again. Somewhere for everyone to dance next don’t you agree? A boogie wonderland venue?

  13. Gary on 21st December 2009 at 11:43 pm permalink

Yes Nick Windsor should be very saucy

  17. mrssplat on 21st December 2009 at 11:46 pm permalink

Awww thank you Nick! I thought my senility had finally come home to roost! haha

  19. Racquel on 21st December 2009 at 11:51 pm permalink

… totally agree a dance venue would be appropriate for H100 Nick, I cannot listen to H100 & not dance

Snow is melting drippingly fast here from bent trees, was over 20cm in garden. We could not work out the strange footprints in the snow, then realised CatBoy was leaping everywhere rather than walking. Bouncy CatBoy & bouncy Racquel after booking tickets to see the man in Windsor.

Back to wrapping presents, only came online to find out how to wrap a strudel …

Windsor, ace! Well looks like I’m going to have to come up to the homeland and pay the family a visit maybe about….. the end of January, no ulterior motives or anything. xxxx

  22. thelonehydrangea on 22nd December 2009 at 12:08 am permalink

Nick -you could have written it “January, man” That would have worked as well : ) .

Mel, it’s 2 days after school goes back so you’ll have to take Miss Rumbly Tummy instead. Unbeknowst to you I had hopes early in the piece of going on the 18th. The plan involved me, my son and ex-husband coming over for 3 weeks and visiting his relatives and seeing youngest sister (who’s over there at the moment) for Christmas. But then ex-husband wanted to go somewhere else instead and didn’t want me to take son on plane without him and there’s no way I would go without my son. Probably worked out for the best in the end as I wouldn’t have had the Ooomph in me to be anywhere except this house at present. But, even knowing that, I did feel a bit like Cinderella on the 18th – particularly as there was no hope of a fairy godmother showing up! : )

  23. Tex on 22nd December 2009 at 12:52 am permalink

YEAH. There most definitely needs to be some dancing going on next time. Tex can’t be doin’ all the solo groovin’ and heavy lifting in the mosh pit all the time.
    ; )

The Windsor Knot is made ..The Snow Girl is joining me and all we need is a sitter ?? ..errr Nick the other night you did say if ever???..

Dang, lonehydrangea. I was reading your post and thought, “Yea! She’s gonna do it! She’s gonna make it!” You never know though. It may come through for you. Stranger things do happen.
    Keep the faith, gurl…

Hey there, Helen! How are you doing? Still riding high off the concert vibe like we all are?

So what is the Queen of Summertime? Sounds wonderful!

  27. Nick on 22nd December 2009 at 1:02 am permalink

I could have a creche set up? Something to ponder for the future…

So am I Tex. I’d play tonight if there was a venue and the men were there with their tools of the trade, ready and willing to wade through the lovely reeds once more, one two three four!

  29. Elissa on 22nd December 2009 at 1:22 am permalink

I wonder if I asked Santa nicely he might give me a ticket to London for Christmas…..

  30. thelonehydrangea on 22nd December 2009 at 1:23 am permalink

Tex, it felt like with that concert….ummmm, do you know the scene in My Best Friend’s Wedding where they go under the bridge and then the moment passes? Like that.

  31. Elissa on 22nd December 2009 at 1:27 am permalink

How good would it be if we could both go tlh! :)

  32. Racquel on 22nd December 2009 at 1:31 am permalink

hey lonehydrangea – did you see the mug shot of Andrew Harvey above ?! ;-)
Winter is a good time for staying in your nest so hope it is benefitting you, was doing something similar myself on the 18th. Glad the loneh has a son to be with – a blessing for you.

Helen, I live really quite close to Windsor so if you wanted to stay @ mine you’d be most welcome & we’d be travelling there so you’d have a lift! Good rail & road & airport links from Reading too.

  33. thelonehydrangea on 22nd December 2009 at 1:45 am permalink

I see it, Racquel. Aha! but it is summer here at present :) and, in this particular spot, the first Proper summer we’ve had in about 6 years. It doesn’t agree with me so much, do better when it’s cooler. Your photos are beautiful, by the way, but haven’t been able to have a proper look as yet because my computer is being a dill.

That would be a nice thing, Elissa. The timing of the 18th would have really suited and it’s tricky now to work something out with school and ex-husband’s work. I think that you’ll get there before I do :)

  34. Racquel on 22nd December 2009 at 2:20 am permalink

oh yeah doh! does that mean it was your summer solstice on 21st?

when you can see properly elissa’s pics has a couple of hydrangea shots – thanks 4 looking @ mine – managed 2 delete them all 1st time round so used up my space reloading – plenty more of sacred garden – btw you’d be most welcome 2 visit/stay if you found yourself on our little island.

now go & have a bath in ice cubes then go into hot room & hey presto – chillblains! just got them clearing snow from overburdened trees& bushes! We may be having the whitest xmas … we’re still waiting 4 a good summer!!! enjoy yours xx

& dj loneh, i listen 2 thomas tallis nearly all the time (sorry nick – tho heartened 2 see/hear it here) but hadn’t heard jam 4 ages thanks!

  35. Racquel on 22nd December 2009 at 2:22 am permalink

ps Elissa we could have a sleepover if you came 2!! will set up the dormitary …

  36. Elissa on 22nd December 2009 at 7:24 am permalink

Thank you Aunty Racquel that would just be a dream! :) So generous to open your home to very new friends. :) :) I will let you know how things pan out. And visa versa if you are ever in Oz! Don’t come now though, it’s so hot and sticky!
We just had a huge thunder storm. I had to drive in it just now. Almost as bad as driving in the snow! I couldn’t see a thing. Thank goodness there was no hail is all I will say!
Time for a glass of bubbles I think! Cheers to all! Cheers to Nick! Cheers to HC100! xo

The mentioning of creche and then a toilet training article… love it.
Heyward, you take the cake. You really do.

    Lonehydrangea,
Hey, didn’t see My Best Friend’s Wedding. Must be because that’s a chick flick, right? just kidding… Looks like I’ll have to see it now cuz you mentioned it.

Looks like another day of living in a snowglobe. Finally, FINALLY know what locals mean by ‘crap English weather’. Off I go into it…

    woooOOOSH!

  40. thelonehydrangea on 22nd December 2009 at 12:31 pm permalink

Yes, Racquel, it was the summer solstice on the 21st :) . It is difficult to fathom sometimes that it is the opposite. I find the time zone difference difficult enough, let alone seasons. And, yes, our water does go down the drain in a different way. Thank you for your kind offer. Have a happy Tuesday.

  41. thelonehydrangea on 22nd December 2009 at 12:31 pm permalink

Not that you asked about the water.

  43. Mel on 22nd December 2009 at 3:52 pm permalink

So where’s the best place to stay in Windsor? (That’s if I can’t get a room at the Castle!)

  44. kate on 22nd December 2009 at 9:37 pm permalink

Yay! Will ask 19yr old son to tag along – not sure if i’m brave enough to rock up alone.
Our winter solstice was yesterday; at this latitude our daylight was 2 seconds longer today!
(ps. tlh, when i was a kid i believed that telephone dials went the other way in Australia too…..not relevant in age of keypads)

  45. thelonehydrangea on 23rd December 2009 at 12:01 am permalink

That is so funny, Kate. Excellent :D .

Mel, do you mean to say that old Liz wouldn’t let you bunk in with them? :D

  46. Mel on 23rd December 2009 at 9:21 am permalink

Tlh, she hasn’t called me yet, but I think she might be a bit busy with her speech to plan and wrapping to do… x

  47. thelonehydrangea on 23rd December 2009 at 10:22 am permalink

Mel and others. As a gesture of good will, Phil the Greek has indicated that if the Nick Heyward fans Insist on trying to bunk in with them that there is a guest house on the property that they may have the use of BUT must provide their own linen. And under no circumstances is anyone to make eye contact with the corgis. It has also been stipulated that Nick Heyward himself must not visit on the off chance that he will Leap About, as he did in one of his videos once, and thus make loud noises banging his feet on the floor, as this will put the corgis off their din-dins.

    …mebbe too nostalgic!

Yes, H100 need a pop dancing venue, during last weeks concert I could tell there were several people wanting to give their funk a bit of a walk but natural British reserve stayed their feet until towards the end when those brave souls began to flex their joints.

Just you at Windsor or a band?
