Afters

Sitting in Starbucks. Sat with soya. A joy to be. Slightly very cold outside. Hotter than July inside the apple crumble… Just been handed a customer care card that reads "A cup should never be half empty."
They should serve apple crumble here…

Oh apple crumble. Now you’re talking.

Can’t decide what to have for ‘befores’ today.

Love the gloves. Very Scandinavian. :)

I’m boycotting Starbucks. They double charged me on a giftcard and refused to give me a refund after not giving me my receipt so I could get a refund. :( Support local business whats I say.

Oh I feel queasy looking at those gloves. The thought of wearing them makes me feel ill. It’s been so warm here the last couple of days that my back screen door (gets the hot afternoon sun) wouldn’t shut properly, such was the effect of the heat on the metal. I consider it a hot day when things inside the house get warm to the touch -such as the kitchen bench, crockery etc. I was cleaning a picture frame and the glass was warm. You have a shower and go to dry yourself and the towel is warm! Too much of a good thing. Having said that, whatever it is under the gloves -scarf?- looks good to me because I love the colour.

Traa laa! thanks for that, tlh! Been muttering about the cold – forgot how uncomfortabley horrible too much sun is – We can always put another jumper on. Feel much more cheerful! The daffs are just showing their noses, but we’ve more cold weather forecast. Never mind!

It’s the first proper summer we’ve had in 6 years so I’m really Noticing it because I’ve been working in it and it’s been very humid as well. As a rule these last few years, in this spot, it’s been 20C all year round with a few more degrees in summer. Thankfully today is reasonable. When I was growing up we would get proper, hot summers like this and would spend most of the time swimming in the river. It was just part of life, to be expected. But the last few years that hasn’t been the case e.g last summer there were only 2 days that could be called Too Hot. If we are going to get into a hot summer pattern again I might look into getting an air conditioner. I haven’t bothered to get the fan out because the motor ends up making the room temperature go up in any case. Some people thrive in warm weather but I find I prefer cooler weather.

…and the gloves are off. What? Huh?

  17. thelonehydrangea on 27th January 2010 at 1:00 am permalink

Robert and Soya want to turn the coffee cup inside out. And then scream and shout.

Maybe that’s why the gloves are off? :) . Due to feeling threatened by that pair…..
