It sounds as though the prize needed to be a bottle of paracetamol :). But, in fact, they've hit upon a really good name because it's very easy to remember. I like the name Fortune Favours the Fallen but that isn't quite as easy to remember. "The bloke with the big glasses" :). By the way - Nicky, Peter Noone sends thanks for the work you did with them in the sixties.

Sounds like a brilliant evening all round Nick. And some more amazing talent blossoming in the UK. I guess we'll have to keep our ears out for Yellow Fever! What was the prize?

A very big thanks Nick.. your presence lifted the whole event.. it was a fantastic day all round .. so many kind words coming in for support for the event..The Hexagon was a great platform for the bands to perform their own songs. Hope we can keep in touch with the academy. You're an absolute gentlemen.

Oh, good for you, you make it sound fun to us, sure it was fun for them!
(and public speakers who are too slick don't sound sincere!)

Yellow Fever. They were very much Arctic Monkeys. Played really well together, sounded and looked like a band, and the singer had great front man appeal. They also have a very nice and smart teacher who's made sure they've all passed their O levels!

The first band Rewritten, brought tears to my eyes... sweet as meringue. Was like hearing a bicycle bell from Sebastian's primary school days...

Bless This Hour were brimming with brilliance! Dispose arose! Fortune favours the Fallen were fantastic! Retrograde played marvelously! SilvaLite rocked! Ataraxy arrived!

They were all so very cheeky, joyful, confident, talented, natural, happy, funny, cockery, humble, kind, driven, jolly, beautiful, friendly and most of all filled with boundless enthusiasm! A total inspiration. One hilarious little chap asked, "so who are you then?" I answered that I was the bloke with the big glasses that sang the Fantastic Day song at the end.

Everybody there for their offspring. Everybody there for their friends. So once again it's family and friends that matter most...

Love and peace,

Nicky Most

Hey, don't knock old Simon because I fancy him in some way :). Have never taken any notice of his trousers, must say. They must be terrible haha.

Elissa - that's so funny that you winked in my direction. Before posting my comment I got rid of part of it - it was about being a Nit Picker and then I thought: Oh, I'd better not say that and then you did anyway IT CRACKS ME UP hahaha. I can't even think of the word Nit without thinking of an old school teacher who used to accuse the kids of being nits. He'd get shirty with them and say things like: Oh don't be such a nit! Or:You nit!! He also had the unusual and somewhat amusing habit of making out he was standing behind the seated student to check their work and then he'd pull out a strand of their hair. He was very sneaky about it. He did it for kicks in order to see the reaction. Or else he was checking for lice. Obsessed with nits perhaps? :)
