I got an extra glimpse of the truth today
Staring at my breakfast
When I thought I heard it say
Fighting is no good
Success an empty lie
The treasure hunt is lonely
Until you realise

We came to take it up
We came to take it up
We came to take it up
We came to raise it up
Came to take it up
Came to move it up

A piece of peace from the peace police, eh.

The word xenophobic came to prominence a few years ago here during fallout after Pauline Hanson gave her maiden speech. She was asked if she was xenophobic and then, not understanding the question, asked "Please explain". She is Supposedly moving over to your neck of the woods now but who can tell if it is a media beat up or not. From what I understand she was vilified for wanting a fair go for everyone which, unfortunately, in this day and age means that people cry racism.

The word xenodochial is not in my dictionary. I'm not saying I'm not xenodochial. I'm saying it is literally not in my dictionary. My small contribution in this way is to as a practice let people in front of me in the supermarket queue if they only have a couple of things and I have a trolley full. It costs you very little time and saves them a lot.

Being hospitable and kindly is not only a nice thing to do but it makes you feel good too and is so worth it for the response you get... I asked the lady on the flower stall outside South Kensington tube for directions to the Hummingbird Cafe on a recent decadent girlie day out. She clearly gets asked that a lot as she barely looked up but gave me monotone directions anyway. I bought her a takeaway cupcake and handed it over on my way back to the tube and she seemed genuinely chuffed and smiled - a much better interaction!

Danny Wallace advocates random acts of kindness in his book "Join Me" which I thought was laugh out loud hilarious if anyone's in need of some light hearted reading material....

Buddha bar my personal all time favorite music that takes me to Greece and leaves me there!

I dont mean clubbing either! I mean laying in the sun in a beautiful villa in the olive groves with the distant ring of goat bells and the gentle island breeze washing over a glistening pool. A large white wine and a bowl of olives..

Ice anyone?

I have a small contribution to add to this peace idea. I live in the world's biggest oil town (in relation to oil commerce, that is) outside of the Middle East. Have a few friends of mine that are up to their eyebrows in the business with being maybe the personal assistant of the head of such and such, board member of another company, etc. Anyway, the talk of wind energy is FINALLY starting to come to the forefront of everyone's conversation with wave energy getting a big push we've all noticed, especially in the past year. The other cool thing I've noticed is the last two times I'd had to wait for a flight at say, the bar of my local airport, the people surrounding me have people involved in wind energy. Encouraging news I had to pass on!
